On the 11th December 2023, we commemorated the 25th Anniversary of John Hume and David Trimble receiving the Nobel Peace Prize with our event in the Guildhall called Leadership for Peaceful Change.
We held a unique event for schools in the morning with a workshop facilitated by YouthAction NI called Pathways to Peace. The schools also had the opportunity to hear a keynote address from human rights advocate and lawyer, Anjli Parrin, followed with a panel discussion with Board member, Mark Durkan and YouthAction NI representative, Jessica Taggart.
This was followed by the afternoon event opened to the general public, peace organisations and schools that involved inspiring keynote speeches and panel discussions from representatives from the Salvation Army and St Vincent De Paul, Fergal Keane, Séamas O’Reilly, David Kerr, Lady Daphne Trimble, Dawn Purvis, Brid Rodgers and Bertie Ahern along with amazing performances from Gemma Doherty and Roe.
A fantastic event to commemorate two incredible peacemakers.
